Next-Generation Communications Technology Development Program

Date: 115-01-12Data Source: Next-Generation Communications Technology Development Office.

To seize the global momentum toward 6G commercialization by 2030 and implement President Lai’s strategic blueprint for advancing next-generation communications as one of Taiwan’s Five Trusted Industry Sectors, while also setting sights on space development, the Executive Yuan convened the Satellite Communication Strategy Review Board (SRB) Meeting in October 2024. This meeting brought together key stakeholders from government, industry, and academia to deliberate on future development directions.

The National Science and Technology Council (NSTC) subsequently assumed overall coordination, collaborating with the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA), Ministry of Digital Affairs (MODA), Ministry of Education (MOE), and National Communications Commission (NCC) to formulate the Next-Generation Communications Technology Development Program. The program aims to foster a domestically anchored and globally integrated next-generation communications industry through public-private collaboration and inter-ministerial coordination.
